At Veritas, customer care is not simply about being responsive.
It is about listening carefully, accepting criticism openly and continuously improving the way we work.
We believe that the strongest client relationships are not those in which everything becomes comfortable. They are the ones that continue to challenge us.
Demanding Clients Make Us Better
One principle has been consistently encouraged throughout Veritas since its foundation:
A demanding client is often the client who teaches us the most.
Clients who ask difficult questions, request unusual solutions or challenge established ways of working force us to remain alert. They expose weaknesses that routine operations may not reveal and encourage us to find better ways of managing processes.
We do not see demanding requirements as an inconvenience.
We see them as an opportunity to improve.
The more complex the request, the more carefully we are required to think, communicate and execute. Over time, those experiences become part of our operational knowledge and ultimately improve the service we provide to every client.
Trust Should Never Become Complacency
Long-term relationships are extremely important to us, but trust should never lead to complacency.
When a business relationship becomes familiar, there is always a risk that people begin to rely on routine rather than attention. We actively work against that.
Our teams are encouraged to treat long-standing clients with the same care, urgency and discipline as they would a new and highly demanding account.
Trust should make cooperation easier.
It should never lower standards.
Feedback Is Part of the Process
We value direct feedback, whether positive or critical.
When a client tells us that something could have been handled better, we do not view that as a complaint to be managed. We view it as operational information.
We want to understand what happened, why it happened and what needs to change to prevent the same issue from recurring.
Where appropriate, feedback is shared internally so that an individual experience can lead to a broader improvement in our processes.
For us, customer care therefore continues beyond resolving a single issue.
The objective is to learn from it.
We Welcome Unusual Requests
International trade rarely follows a perfect standard procedure.
Clients may need alternative routing, urgent sourcing, non-standard documentation, special handling, local representation or a solution that has not been required before.
These are often the situations in which Veritas creates the most value.
Rather than trying to fit every requirement into an existing template, we first try to understand the commercial objective behind the request. We then work backwards to determine what is operationally, financially and legally possible.
We may not always be able to provide exactly what is initially requested.
But our responsibility is to explore the alternatives before saying no.
Accessible When It Matters
Customer care also means access to experience.
When an operation becomes complicated, our clients are not expected to navigate layers of internal hierarchy before reaching someone capable of making a decision.
Our senior team remains closely involved in our clients’ business and is accessible when a situation requires experience, judgement or immediate action.
This is an important part of the way Veritas chooses to operate.
Continuous Improvement Through Our Clients
Some of the most valuable knowledge within Veritas has come directly from our clients.
Their expectations have made us more precise. Their questions have made us reconsider established methods. Their difficult requests have expanded our capabilities.
That is why we do not look for clients who simply accept the way we work.
We value clients who expect us to become better.
Because every time a client raises the standard, Veritas has an opportunity to raise it with them.
